The new biometric ID card


A council of ministers met Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the palace in Carthage Dhiafa validated the draft organic law concerning the change of the national identity card.




These smart national ID cards will be based on a unique identifier for every citizen. Biometric ID cards will allow to replace all cards used to know, care cards, driver's license or social cards.
The identity card will be changed by a modern biometric card and craft and the fingerprint will no longer be displayed in order to guarantee equality between citizens.
